The annual fireside chat

Invitation to our fireside chat
Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 6.30pm at the O.A.S.E. in the Forum des Austauschs – everyone is cordially invited!

The grey winter time invites you to present the colorful variety of academic career paths and/ or discuss pressing issues of PhD students with our faculty members at a fireside chat at the Forum des Austauschs (Forum of exchange): a nice opportunity to network and talk about paths and detours of academic careers as well as their strategic considerations in stimulating company. All faculty members are cordially invited!

Let's be curious together about the experiences and opinions of our colleagues. Chat with us a little bit from the sewing box and let the community of the faculty share your personal career or concerns that move you.

Our guests at the fireside are:

Name Department Possibile interview topics
Prof. Dr. Efrat Gal-Ed Department of Historical Science What are the conceptual differences in the writing process of a monograph compared to a paper?
Prof. Dr. Christian Tagsold Modern Japanese Studies How do reviewers judge the "value" of a monograph compared to a cumulative doctorate?
Dr. Aylin Imeri Department of Linguistics What benefits can I derive from my cumulative doctorate?
Dr. Julia Trinkert Department of Social Science What criteria do I use to decide against a monograph and in favour of a cumulative doctorate?

Our PhD student representatives Laura Hartmann-Wackers and Adis Selimi will leed us and our guests through the evening in an entertaining way. Please join us and register by November 9, 2022 at the latest.

Of course, after a long working day, we will also take care of your physical well-being during the evening! We are looking forward to a cosy and stimulating evening with you!
