The demands on doctoral candidates are high. The first major research project for which you are primarily responsible brings with it many challenges. Good time and self-management as well as coherent project management are essential for productive progress. This is exactly where the Getting Started workshop comes in.
In this workshop, you will reflect on important project management basics and apply them to your research project. You will develop a research project plan for the next six months. In addition, you will learn methods of efficient and effective time and self-management in the context of your doctorate.
The workshop places great emphasis on you thinking very specifically about which of the tools and strategies presented suit you and your work situation and how you can successfully transfer them into practice. The focus is on basic methods and principles that are easy to use and have a lasting effect. Depending on the participants' interests, we will also discuss ways of communicating constructively with supervisors, look at the basics of academic writing skills and discuss motivational strategies.
